This video is so sweet. My puppy reacts with the same enthusiasm to my cats, but she doesn’t get the same reaction. I hope you don’t mind if I borrow this video and show it to my cats.
Yes! I don’t know why, but Marsha has been insanely enthusiastic about Perch since the first time she came into the house! In fact I think the insanity has only increased!
The fact that Perch perches (usually on shoulders) is a happy accident. His full name is Percheron, so named because his father’s name is Horse. Marsha is usually far more pleased to see the cats than the other way around!
This is actually light on the licking compared to other times! If I really want to rile Perch up I’ll give him a bath! That’ll shatter his calm exterior in a second!
Certainly lots of love from Marsha! Perch too if you count annoyed resentment as ‘love!’ His reaction could be SO much worse! As Calvin said, “Five of his six ends are pointy.”

I don’t know what it is, especially since he didn’t grow up with dogs but Perch seems to have a vast tolerance for all sorts of dog hi-jinx!

Poor kitty! We hear licking in stereo sometimes when both dogs are chewing themselves. They lick each other less often.
