My rationale when I bought these couches was that the cats (didn’t have dogs then) wouldn’t want to claw at it like they did with my former scratching post…er, sofa. That’s held true for the most part but they, and the dogs, have still managed to put holes in them.

Leather is great because you can wipe it down after it has been used as a pet bed.
